How the hell are amiibo $40 now when they used to be like $16?

Will NEVER be able to bring myself to pick another one up at these prices.

Literally the first time ALL YEAR I’ve seen boosters at my local Target. Pokemon peeps are crazy. My daughter and I like opening packs together (and her stealing my good cards) but we’ve barely been able to this year.

Pretty damn glad I took a couple days off to really dig into @expedition33.bsky.social. First few hours and I’m completely enraptured.

Just finished all endings in Nier Replicant! I played the original back on PS3 and only did ending A so it was fun going back with such a smooth makeover. Overall I love this game but especially compared to Automata, I felt like the other endings don’t really add much to the core experience.

The Switch 2 feels like what happens EVERY SINGLE TIME a company had a crazy successful console and releases a successor, including Nintendo themselves with the Wii U. It’s not as bad as THAT but still. Just feels cocky, a bit out of touch, and a bit “our shit don’t stink”

My favorite part of the Metroid Prime 4 trailer was when the narrator goes something like “Samus now has psychic powers that will allow her to…open doors…”

Definitely got me hyped!

I think if FF7 Remake 3 had multiplayer and some kind of raid battle it would sell a bajillion more copies.

I hate sitting here and talking about adding multiplayer to single player games like it’s PS3 era but honestly, it feels like it would be an awesome addition.

Not gonna lie, the pinball section of #SplitFiction was one of the coolest things I’ve ever played in a game in my 36 years of life. I’d love to see that idea expanded on more by anyone.

Oh you want some Xenoblade X pics?

I’m now further into Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition in 2 days than I was in the original. Crazy.

PS. Not that crazy. I didn’t get very far in the original.

I knew what I was getting into because I played it on Wii U but MAAANNNNN Xenoblade X’s first few hours move slower than molasses to me.

Wife and I watched the first Silent Hill movie last night. She’s the horror nut but never saw it before. It’s no masterpiece but I like it and it got me super pumped to play SH2 Remake soon.

I have shared this story, this thread, before - but I think given the state of the world, it's worth telling once again. Maybe it can help, especially if like me, you make art, and you wonder what the use of all of it is right now.

That’s Final Fantasy III in the books for the first time! This was the one mainline FF I never touched and while it definitely feels foundational, I can’t say it holds up to most of the other FF games

Might just start a solo podcast where I blab about a game I like for like 10 mins.

I really miss having an outlet to talk about games.

Split/Fiction is awesome. Probably gonna be the best of Hazelight’s games so far if it doesn’t drop the ball. But I will say, it’s a hell of a lot more difficult and involved than their other games. If you’re playing with someone who doesn’t normally play video games they might have a hard time.

…and the credits roll on Granblue Fantasy Relink! Really glad I got around to this one. Absolutely gorgeous game visually and the combat was a blast. Wish the story was a bit better but still a solid experience. Multiplayer would’ve been cool if I had friends to play with :(

If you’ve never played it, give DK ‘94 a try as soon as possible. It’s basically perfect and should absolutely be in the conversation of best games of all time.

No joke, Xenoblade Chronicles X has one of my favorite OSTs of all time. Can’t wait for the Definitive Edition to release and hear how wrong I am from people lol

Feels like everyone’s playing Monster Hunter Wilds and I’m just here dying to Bloody Mary in Terranigma.

Have any of these classic JRPG mobile revivals been successful? I know some had gatcha elements so I guess all you need is a few whales. But in general, at this point, I feel like nobody wants their old school RPGs on a phone. I know I don’t.

Games I beat this year:

1. Ni No Kuni 2
2. Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess
3. Xenosaga: Episode 3
4. Metal Gear Solid 2
5. Pokemon: Omega Ruby
6. Star Ocean Second Story R
7. El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron
8. Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden
9. Voice of Cards: The Forsaken Maiden
March 2, 2025 at 7:11 PM
Just finished Voice of Cards: Forsaken Maiden this morning and I'm blown away. I feel like NO ONE talked about these games. From the story, to the presentation, to the music, I was captivated the entire way through. More people need to give this a try, especially if you're a Yoko Taro fan.
