So, I got Davinci Resolve, and the way that it edits the text in the transcript is nowhere near as good as Premiere, and I was getting frustrated. Since I was starting over anyway, I decided to clear all cache and settings files from Premiere, and now the ripple delete is working again.

Augh. Adobe Premiere is being a real pain in my butt. Editing via a Delete Ripple on the transcript just stops working randomly. I spent hours trying to fix it. Welp, time to try Davinci.
