I'm happy to report that as of 6:07 am today Nugget's annual touching of the grass has been completed. Sometime around 11 am yesterday she made her escape to the side of out. She rolled in grass, chased leaves, protein snacked & darted in & out of the woods. Until next year's Zooming of The Nyoom...

I hate this time of year. I'd ask if we could just skip to January, but the way the last 10ish months have been... I don't know if that'd make things better or worse.
The truly sad part is I actually do love wintertime...just not the last 6-8 weeks of the year.

we just got one here. so far i've been very very good and managed not to go inside. the fact that it is in the same shopping center as a target & trader joes that has THE worst parking lot in the central time zone helps. but the urge to do the levels of damage i did in korea is very very strong.

Every so often I check the birthgiver's FB to reconfirm why I no longer speak to her. Her posts from 4 years ago (to the day) have NOT aged well & the utter & persistent lack of self awareness is dumbfounding. The fact that most of her posts were ironically prophetic is not lost on me either.

I was just thinking about the "sloppy joe" sauce my former MIL sent along with the recipe 20 years ago ('you don't know how to cook for him...'). So I dug it out. There was bad blood between us from day one, but HOMG. What she called CHILE sauce was tomatoes celery sugar salt vinegar and a mango.
