Enjoy reading about cyberpunk vtubers, they're good books.

Would you know it: It's complicated

The problem is even if you do training that's effectively from scratch - the *datasets* on their own are also complex, messy, and interconnected beyond the ability of individual humans to understand. Removing specific data is a crapshoot there too.

There are more bad websites than good ones (in particular for accessibility purposes, far more bad ones than good)

That means AI will statistically output non-accessible websites

Wonder how many employees are in the machine god cult and genuinely coping. Especially because those would be selected for, the smart guys sold out a while ago and left the company completely

For one, I think you could make a legit video essay talking about the ways in which the Minecraft movie is not just bad writing, but the kind of mashed together voiceless unsatisfying kind of story that bears hallmarks of AI-generated creative fiction. It's the best candidate I know so far.

I mean, season 8 of game of thrones came out before the age of AI...

There are absolutely tells and signs of AI one *could* talk about and investigate though, like how they pivot hard between genres and replicate a lot of common tropes and plot patterns before completely dumping them -

If you or somebody else hasn't seen: getindie.wiki

The real way to get rid of fandom bullshit (mostly by getting rid of fandom completely)

That's the only way I can use managers. The little icon next to address bar for extension with a pop-up window is *completely* useless, it's amazing how bad they've universally managed to make those for all pass managers. Not persisting data, not saving properly, all that shit

I don't know if this works for 1password - Firefox has the sidebar feature (top bar, view, sidebar, password manager). That actually PERSISTS so you can type information into it, look back and forth, manually make a new entry you actually know will save and have the right password etc.

Don't worry, the upcoming (made up numbers) 30% inflation and 30% rise in nvidias value are totally uncorrelated and have nothing to do with them creating money out of thin air by passing it around, and the end-consumer will not pay for it in any way

So, a question: Not Just Bikes tends to say "car-dependent suburbia" specifically, and not just "suburbs". Is that enough clarification or still inviting people to argue about the semantics?
August 25, 2025 at 6:39 AM
even back to europe to describe low-density areas of development on city outskirts. Which aren't really "suburbs" at all depending on the definition you're using

It's all a mess
August 24, 2025 at 5:39 PM
As usual most things devolve into semantic arguments, which yes is absolutely a problem. The American Suburb as a distinct thing is the car-centric sprawl of strictly zoned detached family housing - but of course "suburb" is a convenient word and has spread much farther in use than that
August 24, 2025 at 5:38 PM
I dunno, I think urbanists generally are ok with european style "suburbs" - but people don't even *call* those suburbs, they're just random clusters of single-family housing woven into cities and outskirts. "The Suburb" as a distinct concept is an american phenomenon and very particular

As everyone knows, places like norway, finland, etc. do not get cold, and that's clearly why there's no natural gas there.

Twisted and fucked up

It's not just games, it's *platforms* in general. The "straw that breaks the camel's back" portion of the enshittification lifecycle, all the aggressions against users have already added up and were unrecoverable it just took until a big visible moment for everyone to realize all at once

You must never watch The Dark Knight with any of the joseph anderson crew, then.

It started with every joker line having a vine boom. Soon it was every word...

Interesting second screenshot there - really doesn't realize does he.

"businesses who are gaining real serious value from AI can pass that AI cost on" - THERE ARE NONE. You ARE the business, YOU the random personal vibe coder are the entire market. That's why they approached you in the first place!
