I recently had the same realization.

Luckily, many fridges will automatically bypass the filter if removed. Other models need a bypass plug of some kind.

If you don't mind the way your water tastes, those filters are absolutely not worth paying for.

Check if your fridge will bypass the filter!

DnD is a whitelist approach, and it sounds like a blacklist approach would be more suitable. Luckily, Focus Mode is just that.

That's an excellent point! I dug around android settings for a while to confirm.

I did find a built-in-ish solution. Google's digital wellbeing app (baked into most androids) can pause notifications for select apps, and can be scheduled.
