But I am biased. I worked on Radiant dawn as my first ever title. And I worked on Awakening years later.
Awakening is absolutely a stellar entry point to the franchise and a preview of FE 'style' for years to follow after it.

I will say. While Awakening is good.
If you ever manage to get your hands on Path of Radiance (Gamecube) and then Radiant Dawn (Wii). The successive storyline and detail in these stories were my personal favorites.
Lots of tension, world drama, politics. My favorite FE story to date.

I agree with you! I am worried about the continued questionable practices the industry has. An influx of price likely wouldn't help, or increase the 'style' of games we get.
But I do think, as an industry, it will need to increase soon-ish.

I say this as someone who has worked in AAA Publishing, and on well over 100 titles over the last 18 years.
There's good intentions, and I agree. Dollar per hour (flawed argument) is really solid on these; and it's shocking it hasn't skyrocketed.
But we gotta get back to the root of fun. Not #.
