Side benefit of this - it means you spent time thinking about how the system fits together before you move to a more robust database. Can’t count the number of issues I’ve dealt with in tables that we knew early on were imperfect, but couldn’t reliably change by the time they were actually problems.

I had a roommate in college who had a meal catch fire in a pan week 2. We were like, “dude, put it out!” Instead, he ran it outside and put on the ground. We were like, k, maybe just clean it? He was like, yeah I’ll do it in a few minutes. It was still there come spring when the snow melted.

I’m in the opposite boat right now- I’m reading a different author that I enjoyed the first 80% of, and now I’m not. Plus I have “When the moon hits your eye” on deck, which I’m pretty confident I’ll love. Especially given I haven’t read a book of yours I didn’t 😅

I had people do this for me several times before I understood what was going on and I still love every one of the people who were like “yeah of course” for some nearby rando.

I manage a group of software engineers in a department that has been chronically overcommitted, and while I haven’t had a chance to read this paper yet, I love this title as an ideal and I’m absolutely adding it to my vocabulary.
