Interesting, I wouldn’t have thought that. Any sense of the how many of these militia members exist in the US? I am curious if there are enough to be an effective deportation force if the incoming admin needs more bodies.

What about all the homegrown “militias” and various groups like Proud Boys? Are there numbers big enough the government could “deputize” these groups to do the muscle work and be effective?

Ok I just googled The Morgan Affair and wow a lot going on there! Should be a good read too given what I learned (in the last minute) about the regional historian author.

I met Mr McCarthy in a bookstore in las cruces nm, it was the late 90s, the whole staff was congregated around him the way shadows do around a dead tree at the mouth of an arroyo. He was leering at one of the young women there, I went to high school with her. Not surprised at all with the article.
