The problem is that cuts to cancer research don't have an immediate impact. The research being done right now doesn't save lives right now. It's going to save lives ten, twenty years from now. It's just not tangible.

It will be something. Disease outbreak, national disaster, major infrastructure failure... Who knows. Something is going to happen and they will be completely unprepared to handle it because they fired everyone who knew what to do.

I know many people that had to evacuate and at least one family that lost their home, from a fire that started and spread to 10000 acres in less than 24 hours. This rhetoric has me livid.

Just an example. Last week my family spent the day in Los Angeles. We took Metro trains almost everywhere, but there was one thing we wanted to visit that wasn't on a Metro line. We took a Waymo there and took a Waymo back to another Metro station to ride the train back home.
