SPIRITUALISM'S PLACE out now. LOVE IN THE LAV coming soon
Missing the last day of “Queer British History” panels today but leaving #NACBS2025 with lots to think about and weird pictures after spending a day doing Montreal the @tomhulme.bsky.social way. Au revoir, montreal!

A friend is looking for submissions to her panel for #QTHC26 - if your work fits, send the requested materials to tugce.kayaal@furman.edu

I haven’t been very diligent about shilling my newest book, because it’s summer, so here is Curie helping me enjoy summer.

So thankful for all the people who made this book possible, from the @ubuffalohistory.bsky.social PhD program to research support from the NEH & St Olaf, to many friends & colleagues who read chapter drafts & cheered me on.

The historians of religion who've been reviewing our book {SPIRITUALISM'S PLACE, out now with @cornellupress.bsky.social) have been so so so so kind to us. Latest is out today in the Journal of Contemporary Religion from Darryl Caterine.

Thinking back to those happier days of October 31st when Madame Curie and I played dress up and gave candy to strangers and their drunk moms.

Headed to #NACBS2024 in Denver tomorrow, and Facebook is reminding me of NACBSes past, the best moments of which were with friends. Remarkably the first NACBS I attended was in Minneapolis, in 2014. Wild how time is circular. Photos from 8 of the last 10 years of cons

In a field that’s getting more isolating (only historian or very small dept; mega conferences overwhelming or cost prohibitive, humanities & history always under threat) it’s been a gift to meet with these historians of Europe from across NY state. Even tho I’m in MN now, I will continue with NYSAEH

I got to spend 2 weeks in Dublin thanks to an NEH Summer Stipend, collecting the (hopefully) final puzzle pieces for my book, due to Temple UP in January. I spent most of my time either in the archive or writing in my little rented apt, but got away for one weekend. It’s still my favorite place
