Odd choice, but they're not alone in it. Nintendo uses fake glyphs a lot, and I think I recall Stray Children did in some places. I just don't know why you'd make that Japanese fake but the English real.

They're gibberish. There are some actual characters in there, but also made up ones. It mixes katakana and kanji and, yeah, a lot of them are reversed. So, either they're placeholders or they just don't want to use actual Japanese.

I did! I even reviewed it for Destructoid. I didn't dig it all that much. At the time, I said it was solid, but bland and forgettable. I think that was accurate, since a year later, I only remember glimpses of it.
