Nearly all make unfortunate choices on important issues due to biases and willful ignorance.
Human systems same.

Writer and philosopher Huxley (1894-1963) was being generous with his phrasing "...vast majority...".

My experience is that all humans (to sometimes widely varying but still substantial degrees) evade, minimize, misdirect, distort, or deny truth science, reason, facts, and reality.

"And I think you make a really brilliant point...that most people who are not familiar with a crisis don't know when to make the decision that it is a crisis and get involved. So many people through the history of time have pushed it up to the point where it's too late."

E.g.: debt and environment:

Also, many are unfamiliar with Swish.
Or at least the first Swish that came up on my search engine.

After logging in to PayPal, that charity disappears.

Manually entering it into their charity finder also does not bring it up.

4. would rationally be changed to eliminate the 3%, leaving only C.P.I.

Congress has long done a poor job, as they typically mirror the average poorly informed constituent that elects them, not the thoughtful and well informed minuscule minority. An ethically impoverished mathematical equation.

Food for the unusually thoughtful:

I am a political independent for a number of reasons.

Large groups - eg: religious, political, or even informal groups with cultural beliefs around sexuality - get large by appealing to a low, average denominator.

Not by appeal to the thoughtful & well informed.

Feedback Friday.

A.K.A.: Two Agony Uncles feed shallow human instinct to dwell more on people than on ideas. While they secretly inject overarching ideas and principles under the guise of sociability.

Well played.

Not a fan of ideological, anti-rational, willfully blind, politicult nut jobs like Musk or Tiedrich. Regardless of which side of the political spectrum they're on.

Both blocked my social media accounts because they dislike unpleasant realities.

They both go out of their way to be expletives.

Meanwhile, the other side tortures even their own supporters. (Screen shot, 5 Nov. 2025 New York Times news article)

Severe abuses and propaganda from both sides.

Decades of experience and erudition have led me to deep skepticism of human nature.

Unfortunately, I cannot think of anyone who even tries to substantially positively deviate from that nature.

Even the best among us specialize, ignoring major areas, while typically embracing obvious absurdities.

As you were saying on another recent episode?

When conservatives, right wingers, or pro-business interests talk of cutting red tape and bureaucracy, they typically mean rolling back environmental, labor, and or safety protections.

Elizabeth Taylor: Lola darling, you know there are only two things I dislike about you?

Lola: Really? What are they?

Elizabeth Taylor: Your face.

Why should they, when the public elects politicians & parties that habitually mismanage & overspend, regardless of how much tax government imposes?

And when faced with this reality, the public overwhelmingly - & in practice unanimously - evades, misdirects, minimizes, distorts, & denies this fact?

Almost all humans are - to varying degrees - creatures of folly, delusion, irrational biases, and willful ignorance.

Wealth is not o condom protecting us from such traits. Indeed, wealth magnifies personality:

Donating 100s of millions promoting fascism, worse sovereign debt, and health epidemics.

Wow

Next, anyone who doesn't agree 100% with every political zealot on social media, will have to wear the star of David, like Nazis used to make Jews wear.

Doesn't take long:
After my question to you, instead of rational debate, someone skipped calling me MAGA & went straight to Nazi sympathizer.

Greta was again fulfilling an ethical humanitarian responsibility, not necessarily a legal one.

Unpleasant counter argument:

The people she is trying to help widely abuse LGBT+ persons.

Most of them would further abuse any LGBT+ asking for relief from that abuse. So why should anyone help them?
