Blind /VIP children absolutely need to be shown different is not less than and their condition is not pitiable. They need to learn how to use reasonable accommodations and how to self-advocate for those accommodations when they are absent.

I was told to “treat blind/ VIP children the same way you would any other child.” My concern is the language of treating them “the same” as sighted children. This is ableism.
