Yesterday, @rescuetoridges and I hiked a loop around Springer, greeting hikers on the #AT, then finding solitude on the #BMT.

I set out for a longer hike but, still recovering from a cold, changed course. Cowee Bald was exactly what Shooter and I needed—solitary, snowy, and peaceful. The fire tower, though close to home, is in decline.
