To my mind: The act of choosing to believe in something. The bit about justification caught my eye because I can't think of convincing justifications for most things beyond the practical. I was trying to imagine the mindset of a person who felt no need to justify from the affirmative.

Yeah; I think belief has been the notion I’ve been wrestling with the most of late. After living without spiritual faith for so long it’s weird to have to deal with it again. Faith in a country, faith in history, faith in systems, faith in change etc.

Hmm "I have no reason to justify my beliefs to my own self if doing so will render me a non-person in the narrative of my own society or the story of myself"
