I am not seeing a refund option for raccoon theft. We used to be a proper country.

If you can’t tell, I’m a lil rattled. These are all thoughts I’ve held and worried about for a while now. It’s just a bit surreal to see it all come to fruition so close to home and in the worst way possible.

I just hope all the families and survivors find peace. (8/8)

Ultimately I don’t know much about what my coworkers workload looked like. The only information I have is that he was new and it was getting dark. But I don’t need to know all the details because this is my own lived experience. (7/8)

I say all of this for a reason. We often don’t view decisions made within late stage capitalism as violent acts, but they inherently are. That violence keeps labor complacent and preoccupied with their own struggles rather than working together to build social safety nets. (6/8)

Working the system like this funnels people either into the military for a taste of what a socialized country could look like or into jobs where your labor will be exploited for profit. This is how you create an environment like my workplace. (5/8)

This is all compounded by the political system we live in. Without free or affordable healthcare, housing, or education, you’re left with minimal options to dig yourself out of any kind of hole you may find yourself in. This is by design. (4/8)

Only a couple months ago a competitor in my area also was involved in a fatal accident. The opportunity to move to a safer environment is essentially impossible. It’s a tough gig but it is better than taking a massive pay cut for a different entry level job. (3/8)

The work at this job is brutal and we are required to work at break neck speeds to get it all done. We spend a significant part of the work day driving in the dark. Month over month, year over year the workload inevitably increases while our pay lags behind. (2/8)
