And there's just so, so much sex in this book. Maybe there's a payoff at the end when the demons start fucking with everyone, IDK I haven't gotten that far, but right now it's not even *interesting* sex. It's just. Fucking. Random, unintentionally apathetic fucking.

She sees demons every now and then so I'd expect for the ketamine to be tied to her experiences with the demons, except it isn't. Being drunk or high or anything doesn't really seem to do anything to her or her situation.

The main character keeps doing ketamine, right? Except she's super broke and can't afford food, so I don't know where or from whom she's buying this ketamine. She just has it. And when she does the ketamine, she doesn't seem to experience any sort of change of mindset? Doesn't seem high or low...

What size waterfall are we talking about? Because I have one near my house that's, like, 4 feet high? A little trickle most days. Niagara falls? I wouldn't be able to reach into that, though.

I'm clearly not reading the right novels. It's been a while since I picked something up by Charlie Jane Anders and I know that hers weren't like that.
I just find it a bit off-putting? I feel like I spend enough time around trans women to know that this isn't how they usually introduce themselves.

The alternative would be to do some introspection and admit that maybe armed insurrection isn't something you OR "the liberals" could really pull off with ice being armed by the most militaristic force that's ever existed on the planet but you'd have to take your hand off your dick for that...
