I hadn’t seen the news that Cobb completed the Silver Comet Connector section along Atlanta Rd. ❤️

Between that and the latest NW Beltline segment connecting up to the Woodall Trail, I rode from Ashby Marta to 285 yesterday without getting on any scary roads.
A multi use path runs alongside the 4-lane Atlanta Road. The path continues under a railroad bridge from where it used to end. A map shows a GPS track from west Atlanta near the Ashby Marta station to Blue Moon Pizza in Smyrna, following the Beltline, Woodall Rail Trail, Whetstone Creek Trail, and Silver Comet Connector.

#AtlantaStreetsAlive was a lot of fun yesterday. The West End always has great music and dance, and we ran into some friends.

We biked from Ashby Marta Station, which now has a protected cycle track all the way to the Beltline 🙌

I love this. A regular bike can handle a lot of cargo.
Someone on here pointed me to a front rack for suspension forks (Minoura MT-4000SF) and now I’m carrying SO much stuff.

Would be pretty useful for #DecaturGA to have protected crossing at the Church/Commerce intersection, at least north/south.

But instead, the protected bike lanes end at awkward spots that make the intersection very difficult to cross safely, especially southbound.

Thankful for my co working space @switchyards for having spots all over town. Dropped my kid off at his summer camp via bike + train, then biked over here to get some work done.

Thanks for the recommendation! I got exactly that rack. It’s working great, and I’m glad the weight isn’t any higher.

We had a successful first try for “bag and drag” to bring the kid’s bike to the park across town #cargoBike

The weather is getting nicer here in Atlanta, and the bike rack at my coworking space is full for the first time since it was installed a month ago 🎉

I added a front basket, hoping to postpone buying a cargo bike.

Unfortunately this basket is not the right solution.

Steering is challenging even with a minimal load. Putting my backpack in the basket, with my kid on the back, makes the bike too hard to control.
