Raider and Waffles are ready for Texas Tech football to WRECK the College Football Playoffs!

Can’t wait to add this book to my “epic failures” collection. It’s going to blow Wizard or Lies & The Smartest Guys in the Room out of the water. By a mile.

Goodness, Texas Tech football:

The world is…bleak. Heres a picture of Raider & Waffles, captured while playing with their giant stuffed octopus:

The entire side of my mom’s family are Nebraska Cornhusker fans. I went to Texas Tech. The two best football offensive schemes are the Air Raid and Triple Option. Period.

Book 13 of 2025: The Magic Order, Books 1 - 4. What a wild concept of magicians protecting earth and battling evil (and each other) in this gritty setting. Loved it all. Make Miller is just SO good at his craft!

Seems to be a recurring theme…

Nintendo 64 Game of the Week (35
- back off track…travel): Wave Rave 64. Just an epic early title that shows off the power, controls, and visual feast from the N64. And fun as hell. Plus the course effects during a race - fog lifting, tides rescinding, etc - really make for an awesome racer.

Nintendo 64 Game of the Week (34
- back on track!): Blast Corps. Time to get moving! This game is (literally) a blast. The only way to protect everyone from a runaway nuke on a truck is to destroy everything in its path with (increasingly ridiculous) vehicles. Simple awesomeness. Another Rare gem.

Nintendo 64 Game of the Week (33): Starfox 64. Do a barrel roll! The first 64 game I ever owned remains a classic. Great action, controls, and I still appreciate how you have to dedicate to a full play through - no saving! I think it’s the best of the series.

The legendary George Takei replied to my Bluesky comment. I’d be content with retiring from social media now.

Book 12 of 2025: “Wild Faith” by Talia Lavin. The author does a fantastic job of laying out all of the way the American Christian Right has weaponized their (in many cases hypocritical) beliefs to shape American politics, culture, and society to punish anyone, and anything, that they object to.

Nintendo 64 Game of the Week (32): Pilotwings 64. Another great launch title. It really shows off the system, along with being a simple-yet-awesome video game. I’m a fan of the autogyro & human cannonball levels. But, they’re all fun.

Ah! Corgi Races now airing on ESPNEWS!

Nintendo 64 Game of the Week (31): WinBack. A cover-based shoot WAY ahead of its time. Action-packed and challenging. And it holds up surprising well for a 25+ year-old game!
August 6, 2025 at 7:18 PM
Book 11 of 2025: “Careless People” by Sarah Wynn-Williams. Conclusion: Facebook sucks. Their leadership are morally bankrupt and have caused irreparable harm to our society, both domestic and abroad, all in the name of money. Seriously, eff Mark, Sheryl, Joel, and the board.

Nintendo 64 Game of the Week (30…a little late, got caught up playing!): Body Harvest. Grand Theft Auto meets Starship Troopers, with time travel. Lots of vehicles to operate and plenty of bugs to fight. A hidden gem on the N64.

Regular reminder that the American Pie 2 soundtrack (both OST & songs in the movie) goes HARD.

Nintendo 64 Game of the Week (29): Knife Edge: Nose Gunner. A fun on-rails shooter than can (and should be) played with up to 4 players. A reminder that videos games don’t need 30 hours of backstory & character development (or even much of a plot), as long as they’re fun to play!
