Als Dänemark bei jedem verdammten US-Krieg seine Söhne und Kinder zur Unterstützung geschickt hat, waren sie noch gute Alliierte... So schnell kann sich der Wind drehen.
The former ambassador to Denmark for the United States, Rufus Gifford, posted this video on his Facebook account:

Trying to see the bright side of “must do” upping of expenditure on defence. Peace and the rule of law delivers amazing dividends. Are those days gone?

Wellington PT. Train to Featherston replaced by two buses. Then a connecting bus Feathie to Martinborough. Pretty awesome but it will be good to get the trains back. 6 week shutdown for track upgrades. Lovely countryside too.

Reading the Times “Court Circular” and the reference to the a royal visit to the Worshipful Society of Haberdashers in 2024 caught me short. Who knows what a haberdasher even is these days. Yes I do. But I am a woman of a certain age.

I am quite woke and PC yup but I am liking the Tui campaign for being irreverent plus today’s was GOOD if I can remember it “ I know a bloke who could have built that hospital for half the cost” yeah right.

Paris SUV driver faces murder charge as cyclist ‘deliberately hit’

Even in poster child Paris the ( mostly male) rage at people moving around the city on zero carbon modes causes murder by car. Pretty disgusting context on what is really important in life.

Witnesses say Paul Varry, 27, was run over after remonstrating because the driver had entered the cycle lane and run over his foot

Has anyone looked at the Accelerated Auckland Transport Projects ( John Key) ; State owned Enterprise sales funded project ( Bill English) ; Special Housing Areas ( Nick Smith) NZ UP ( Phil Twyford) ; Covid Fast track ( Jacinda Adern) for a few “ fasttrack “ project lists to see which are complete?

Is it just me ? Noticing a lot of “hello” and “ welcome” by Air NZ air attendants and pilots and not many “KiaOra” . I use Te Reo Māori myself.

@wellingtonista.bsky.social so sad to see Cranfields closed down and Good Books in Jessie Street and just so many empty shops along the “golden” few miles.

Was at a masterclass of about 20 people on native plant regeneration yesterday. Seemed mostly all pakeha ( but who can tell these days). Two presenters ( pakeha) introduced themselves and greeted everyone in Te Reo Māori including a karakia. #radical #NAH

I am recovering from significant surgery now home so the district health nurse Dawn calls me to check on me, then visits me at home on a Sunday, gives me great assistance…and has to leave a pamphlet telling me how I can complain. Really? Where do I sing the praises of this service? And Dawn.

MetService do better: even in Wellington 23 degrees does not warrant a heat alert.

Does anyone know why The Economist is showing a global map of potential naturally occurring subterranean hydrogen that includes somewhere in Southland? Next big thing? Energy without greenhouses gases.

Kind of nice how we have developed Christmas rituals of a big beautiful lunch with friends and family; followed by ham sandwiches for two weeks. Also roast kumara. With trifle and pavlova. # AoNZChristmas

My cherries for Christmas left Bannockburn ( near Queenstown) at 4 pm last night, and at 6.23am this morning they are in the Wairarapa. Wow. #nzpost

Went to the skin doctor; 4 “things” scooped and scraped out. NZ climate is unforgiving on skin despite brown skin from Jewish heritage a few gens back. Get an annual check up for skin abnormalities. Put it in the diary now.

So we spent squillions getting special steel bird netting installed on the flue of our wood burner to stop the birds coming down the flue and yes the birds have hunkered it down to make a nest and now we can hear several chicks day and night in our living room.
