Romanian documentary filmmaker with an Ukrainian heart.

Here because of the people I love in Ukraine and because i believe in their victory
So, I duno. maybe you were in a circle of people from this minority who speak russian but its definitely not something remotely common in Bucharest. If you were at a synagogue, maybe. The Jewish community has old connections with the russian empire and many Romanian Jews came from the east.

Moved to Bucharest 20 years ago and the only times I heard Russia was from Ukrainian refugees since 2022. Never encountered a menu in russian here. The only Romanians I met speaking russian are people who studied in the 50s and 60s and members of the Lipovan community in the Danube Delta.

No, they would not. He only said this as a reply to a little snare in russian I did on the profile of the pro-russian presidential candidate. He just got angry and let the mask fall off. All his other posts are in Romanian and about Romanian "patriotism"

There is a small (like 50.000 people) community of russian speakers in the area of the Danube Delta, their language is recognized but even they don't have menus and signage in russian

Maybe you went to the Republic of Moldova and are confusing the two countries

Where were you in exactly? That is completely inaccurate iin my experience.

Yes, russian was taught as a second language in some schools during communism but most people don't understand it and maybe know two or 3 words.

I have never seen a menu in russian here
