The ROM is hosting an exhibition on Crawford Lake, one of the best studied Iroquoian woodland village in Ontario. The lake is famous for its "Golden Spike" and almost pristine soil core from the lake bed documenting over 700 years of human agriculture. #Archaeology

The exquisite band on this point was likely a deliberate choice. I'm not sure how a quartz band like this would impact knapping but the point is well formed and preserved.
