We did this all the time. I saw more than a few shuttle launches.

That is the best I Voted sticker I've ever seen. California's are boring.

I'm over him. He vetoed a bipartisan bill to update the Medicaid share of cost formula (ppl over income for Medicaid pay cost/mo before Medicaid pays). Last updated- 1989. Someone $10 over($1800/mo) pays $1200/mo before Medicaid covers services. Average rent in the Bay Area is $2000 for a 1 bedroom.

Thank you!

USPS doesn't use tax money. They are self funded. So this makes no sense on so many levels.

That was the point of my original post. So many caregivers are hesitant to accept or get help. They feel guilty. Caregiver education is so important. Unfortunately, part of that is funded through the Older Americans Act, which is federal.....

Right? Care is so expensive. Even nursing homes are expensive, which is why people go on Medicaid to pay for it.

It's crazy. We have so many clients who make too much money to qualify for Medicaid but can't afford private care. Then they end up in nursing homes when they don't really need it. Not that Medicaid will be around much longer.

Agree. It wouldn't have. But placement it's not always necessary. I've had clients with dementia stay at home until the day they die. But they need the proper services I've had others who couldn't. Unfortunately, it usually has to do with how much money the client has. You have to pay for 24/7 care.

Not necessarily. I'm a geriatric social worker and sometimes my clients can get enough services put in place at home. Sometimes not. Either way people need support to make an educated decision.

This shows the importance of supporting family caregivers. Many feel guilt when taking care of themselves & get no help. They tend to be more unhealthy, have more chronic conditions than non-caregivers. Maybe this could've been avoided with support systems in place. We need to educate caregivers.
