Health care is a human right.

State leaders should reject this proposal and instead protect access to Medi-Cal for all low-income Californians, regardless of immigration status.

For someone living paycheck to paycheck, $30 isn’t affordable!

It’s groceries or essentials like a phone bill or a bus pass.

It’s enough to push people out of coverage, leading many to delay or skip the care they need to stay healthy.

Let’s be clear: No other group in Medi-Cal is being asked to pay.

This policy only targets undocumented adults, a group that faces systemic exclusion and is under threat from a hostile federal administration.

It’s discriminatory, unjust, and it undermines California’s commitment to #HealthEquity.

State leaders are proposing a $30 monthly Medi-Cal premium for undocumented adults (ages 19+) with incomes of about $22,000 per year for a single adult or $45,000 for a family of four.

It’s lower than the Governor’s $100 proposal, but still a major barrier to care.

It’s also enough to push people out of coverage, leading many to delay or skip the care they need to stay healthy. This proposal puts people’s health at risk.

Let’s be clear: no other group in Medi-Cal is being asked to pay this premium.

This policy only targets undocumented adults, a group that already faces systemic exclusion.

It’s discriminatory. It’s unjust. And it undermines California’s commitment to #HealthEquity.

When people lose health coverage, they're more likely to avoid the doctor until an emergency.

This proposal risks real harm to people’s health.
