The article doesn’t really elaborate on the conditions under which resistance development is tested or found to be triggered, anyone in the field have insight into the background on this?

I think we’re on the same page then — my hope is that primary challenges knock a few senate incumbents out, and scares the rest into understanding the assignment for the 120th Congress.

I do agree with you that the median voter probably is not paying attention enough to assign culpability in a logically sound way. But the primary voters for the Democratic Party include a lot of federal workers, who i think are paying very close attention because of the impact on their livelihoods.

Well I’m embarrassed to be the guy that did friendly fire, but I’m glad I got clocked on it quickly lmao

My bad!

I clearly need to have the last vestiges of Kant scrubbed from my brain

This is an awfully optimistic intepretation of how people will interpret watching the only responsible stewards of the federal government wave a white flag after crushing them at the ballot box

Again, the unspoken pre-condition to retaking the senate having *any* meaningful downstream consequences is kicking Schumer and the moderates out. There needs to be a reckoning and none of these feckless hacks will do what needs to be done. It’s the internet, we’re speaking imprecisely.

This is not a binary choice between choosing new leadership or taking the senate with the existing leadership. If we do not do the former, we have no reason to believe the latter will lead to any outcome that safeguards a democratic republic.

What about any of this is a dickwaving contest? The leadership is actively stepping on rakes. They are not only incompetent but an impediment to removing fascists from power.

The NYC organizing groups are frankly kinda insane — they cannot comprehend talking about issues that affect domestic Jews as distinct from efforts to de-center Palestine
November 8, 2025 at 5:37 PM
Now contrast that with Calla Walsh, who somehow read this statement and decided he is a Zionist who wants to see Palestine eradicated lmao

I felt like I came full circle doing economics, math, and philosophy classes, because at a high level the advanced courses are underpinned by overlapping applications of symbolic logic and deductive reasoning. The content is different but the processes felt like they echoed each other.

The thankless work of a bureaucracy that also gets pilloried by a public that fundamentally does not understand how said bureaucracy works. Bless the three staffers at the master planning meeting I went to earlier this week, they are God’s strongest soldiers.

And sacred doesn’t mean they are immutable, but the thing that makes this intolerable is how it comes directly from this guy’s whims

The reflex to say that someone has no values but capital accumulation, when they are clearly enunciating a set of principles about engaging in civic and public life, is a core reason why I am losing patience and interest in engaging with self-proclaimed radicals. It’s solipsistic thinking.
