Additionally, I know we do not like really talking about that, but salaries at a good teaching institution (taking into account living costs and location) are roughly the same as they are at some research institutions. The premium is no longer what it used to be.

Witnessing this process, it has also made me wonder where exactly the disconnect between faculty and admin begin. That is a question I constantly think about because a large part of my job is to talk to faculty to understand what my peers need to grow and thrive.

I ll be honest, I did not think I was going to end up in Admin this early on, but now that I am here, it has been fascinating listening to candidates for these roles share their trajectories and talk about their vision. This is something no one trains us on, ppl r expected to figure it out

I WANT TO CONGRATULATE YOU ON THE BEST AGREEMENT EVER SIGNED WITH A CLASS, and THEY ARE A MARVELOUS CLASS, every classy CLASS... just the way we like it here folks... Some even say they may be the best class, but I don't know, I know them well.. THIS IS THE BEST THING that could have happened
