A common theme in American culture is that most people (not all) obsess over quantity instead of quality. Bulk. They want everything to be supersized: houses, enormous trucks, SUV's that seat 9 people and look like tanks, huge portion sizes at restaurants, enormous Venti coffees etc.

I know what you mean, but even a broken clock is right twice per day. Even the most ignorant or narcisstic people will occassionaly have their sane moments.
