To me it’s a bigger thing about podcasts more generally. Space to talk ideas. Space to let guests talk. Questions designed to be answers not gotchas or generate soundbites. Can’t watch political interviews on the broadcast news anymore.

And likewise in local government chief execs, exec directors etc etc.

By any reasonable measure the PM is underpaid, not that there is any shortage of applicants, but you don’t want the PM needing to worry about personal finances.

Doing a job you enjoy and you are good at (rather than chasing a promotion to one where you are neither) is a massively underrated way of making life fun and staying sane.
