Repost with your favorite Halloween costume.

My attempt at Mario. Briefly, I felt unashamed of my body and, maybe, like my life was mine again.

The feeling passed — but it eventually returned. And I look at this “costume” as an empowering moment.

Perhaps I am late to this or it’s obvious or it’s leftist, but…
The comics ONE WORLD UNDER DOOM, THE ULTIMATES & the ABSOLUTE DC series are all about rising up against despotic, tyrannical ruling forces. All the major superhero storylines are currently about #resistance #protest & #rebellion. Right?

Likely emboldened by this past week's events in the Supreme Court and Congress, one of my fellow citizens decided to add some thoughts to my my "No King!" yard sign:

"Yes only duly elected officials like President Trump" 😡

Trump’s not a strongman.

Perhaps the best sign I saw at "No Kings but Yaaas Queen!" event in Boston today:
"One Big Beautiful Bill is my drag name."

If only they took heed of their front sign at a federal level.

I had the most wonderful time tonight, hearing Craig Thompson (BLANKETS) speak tonight about his life and about his new book GINSENG ROOTS: A MEMOIR. He was delightful, insightful, and warm. Thanks to @harvardbookstore.bsky.social & Cambridge Public Library. More photos and thoughts to follow.

The new ABSOLUTE MARTIAN MANHUNTER series is sensational! It reminds me of the early days of Morrison and Truog’s ANIMAL MAN or (dare I say it?) You-Know-Who’s SANDMAN. (I will wait until at least issue #3 before making any Alan Moore comparisons.)

From THE ULTIMATES #11, out this week from Marvel:

“You don’t make concessions
To autocrats and their oppressions
You don’t make deals
With tyrants”

The streets here in Lexington are lined with people for the parade, but among the families and dogs are many protest signs. #Lex250

My students at MCPHS University had a wonderful time learning from MassArt’s own Lisa Daria Kennedy with her “Comics, Creation, and Creativity” Workshop yesterday. We need *more* of this #healthhumanities overlap, especially for those interested in #graphicmedicine. Thank you, Prof. Kennedy!

MA HHS Kate Walsh addresses Gov. Healey’s concerns about “brain drain” as medical researchers and scientists may leave the state (and country) out of fear of federal actions. “Fear is free.” #AtlanticHealth
