They are good for desktop, but a little slow on Android, and StartPage had a performance issue. I might give them another try, though, and hope it was temporary stuff. Either that or search for more alternatives, because I don't like being stuck with DDG since it's based in the USA.

I believe search engines that follow European stricter laws are best for privacy (for everyday use, not Tor level). I tried Startpage and Qwant, the only ones I know so far.
