Before we even go there, I am hoping someday they can cure type-1 diabetes (there are no stem cells in the B-cells that produce insulin in the pancreas that I am aware of), or Parkinson's disease, and burn victims. We need to continue the research.

It's been also used to reprogram somatic cells into induced pluripotent stem cells or stimulate body's own repair mechanisms for regenerative medicine. It's generally safer than using the viral transporter where it inserts its DNA causing mutations, cancer, etc.
