Worth a read. A good summary of the challenges associated with maintaining a language heterogenous codebase (here with the integration of Rust).
The reality is always less pretty than just the usual *rewrite everything in Rust* which is an extremely childish take.

When my wife and I have redone entirely our kitchen. I asked the seller explicitly: "I do not want wifi connect on *any* item, give me simple buttons. I am ready to pay more for that"

The guy looked to me as if he just met an alien.

Having a Trump equivalent governing France in 2027 appears to be a bit more unlikely. Europe can probably thank the French Justice system on this one.

Pro tips: Making a filesystem backup of your phone through USB is faster when the phone is playing "What is love - 10h - of Jim Carrey" on YouTube.

And this is not a joke. Very likely related to battery opt and cpu clock down that are limited when playing videos 😅

> "EU [...] formed to screw U.S"

In fact, historically, clearly: No.

The E.U was created to avoid that if Germany raises the right arm a bit too high again, the entire planet gets Nuked.

What we did not expect was USA raising the arm first.

"Trump [...] lives in a disinformation space"

Yes. Zelensky is right on that. On honestly, if I would be a US citizen, this would freak me out.
Because it definitively means there is (several) Russian propagandists in close proximity with Trump.

Do not be an asshole like Elon.
Micro-managers often do not recognize how toxic and counterproductive they can be. I have encountered that multiple times.

Never take confidence for a sign of competency.

People with the highest level of expertise are often the most humble one. Not the others.

I start to believe that Colonels and Oligarques in Russia have cumulated more flying hours falling from balconies than the su-57 flying by itself.

Thread👇

I got a copy of "The design and evolution of C++" written by Bjarne himself. The book was recommended by Alexander Stepanov in one of his talk.

I do recommend it, it is a very informative for anyone interested in programming language design.

Hard to get however because not edited anymore.

Dear Elon, It seems that some midlife crisis are harder than others.

If you could avoid to fuck the Europe and Ukraine in the process, it would be nice. Thank you.

Woohoo! Decisions have been made on the @fosdem.bsky.social'25 HPC, Big Data & Data Science DevRoom talks and the schedule is beginning to populate at fosdem.org/2025/schedul... for what will eventually be a full day of talks in Brussels Sunday 2 February 2025 with recording and streaming available.
