Drugs are strictly regulated, with a schedule of drugs determining legality. No alcohol until age 21. Most states limit sports gambling to age 21 & up. In 6 states it is age 18 (too young). Easy online access increases addiction, which has health & societal costs.

And in many states the agricultural runoff flows into the Mississippi River and from there to the Gulf of Mexico, contributing to a dead zone caused by hypoxia.

And circulation numbers are used by libraries to prove demand and community interest to justify funding. Every time you check out a book or other item, use their databases, etc. you are literally helping to support your public library.
