Trying to climb my way outta disability poverty hell, one step at a time
When im trying to engage in my new hobby, I constantly get nagged by first voice. Its a very fine line to balance taking the risk vs protecting yourself from /foreseeable/ sh*t.

We learn, we approach, we improve. Just step at a time. From one gang to another, we're proud you took the risk and grew

I've met counseling students who cannot grasp that any person can get a disability. Also met people who believe that the worst thing that could happen to them is having to stop working to go to school full time.

I'm constantly trying to get people to see that their attitudes are why i'm yelling.

But honestly, I dont care if this is rude. If you ask me how you can help me and I tell you. I expect you to make /SOME/ attempt thst goes above "we'll here is a list of food pantries that we have on a form".

Most professionals cant seem to handle the real answers. Ex: "3 square healthy meals a day while accommodating an eating disorder. A modest (above poverty) income. And people who tell me they love me. So how do you intend to help me get those things."

I know in some instances this is rude ...

Ive reached the point where I won't speak to anyone with less than a masters regarding any facet of mental health.

Ive literally told lower end HCW's to get themselves reassigned bc I won't work with anyone who doesn't have explicit training in MH and autism.

One of the people I worked, in school, with literally thought the worst thing that could happen to her was that she'd have to stop working part time in order to go to finish school.

I sometimes wonder what she would have said, if i confronted her with 14 consec years on social security...

Mannnn, you posting this makes my day and gives me the energy to finish my classwork. While there's not a ton of happiness, I'm happy to have something to read later

Thanks for your diligence and continuing work in spreading knowledge
