That’s not to say I wouldn’t love to be an uncle as much as my sister wants to be a mother and as much as my folks want grandkids. But things aren’t looking bright in that regard. So I hope this doesn’t come off as selfish; women’s health and autonomy is obviously the main thing at risk here.

My sister lives in a blue city in a very red state. She has expressed wanting children but even now I’m sure she understands the danger she could be in if complications arose. I don’t particularly have an interest in having my own kids so grandkid duty would fall to her.
