If we need a certain level of skill to do something as basic as walking or cycling, yeah, the city's doing it wrong!

I've said it somewhere else, but learning to bike confidently around Metro Manila should NOT have been a flex. We need our roads to be safer for all kinds of road users.

Honestly, Commonwealth is okay like 80% of the time, especially when you get to the parts with good separated bike lanes. It's just that when traffic is bad, it also gets dangerous for us.
