So, Mr Weber seems to think that a democratic and accountable Commission weakens the Union. No wonder why there are so many illiberal parties within the @eppgroup.bsky.social family! The European way is democracy, transparency, accountability

Hanna Arendt described clearly what we are currently witnessing with Trump 2.0. And yet, we've failed to protect ourselves from repetitions #TheOriginsOfTotalitarianism

I know there are bigger problems in this world, but it always frustrates me to see these chairs for right-handers at a venue. We, left-handers are obviously not worth an effort

The 2024 report of the #EPPO is out today. #Croatia scores incredibly high in number of convictions. It has improved its own record more than three times, thus comparing to Germany's performance. #Corruption remains the 3rd largest type of offence

Well, if BoJo sounds clearer than Starmer ...

Coordinated message. So fast at that

Another answer when trying from a different link. I hope this is a technical issue

So, the @ec.europa.eu no longer provides access to the #CVM reports. After closing the CVM, it obviously decided that the reports would no longer be necessary. Very annoying because I now have to file a request for access to information, which will cost me time

What happened to the freedom of expression these guys so vigorously used to defend their rights deprivation policies?

This latest terrible take about the re-elected #Croatian president seems to confirm the saying that when a lie is told a 100 times it becomes the truth. It also confirms that journos, and #media outlets, way too often turn to #populism themselves. They shouldn't wonder then why they lose readership

Dear @politico.eu, I'm starting to get tired of this very inaccurate description of the #Croatian president. Just a skimming through his statements would tell you how off-mark your claims is. Second, the Croatian president doesn't sit in #EUCO. The PM does

Surprising exit polls from the 1st round of the presidential elections in #Croatia. The incumbent president Zoran Milanović seems to be on his way to be re-elected in the 1st round. If results confirm it, this would be a huge miscalculation for PM Plenković

Today, I re-tweeted Stephen King's tweet and again invited my followers to come here and, guess what, my tweet is not re-tweetable

In an attempt to again comply with EU law, Meta is again providing the option to subscribe if I don't want ads. However, they'll still process my data for various purposes, incl. research. Not quite in control of my data, right?

Speaking of lack of leaders, we have even worse - appeasers. VDL congratulates Trump 'warmly'. I feel sick
November 6, 2024 at 1:12 PM
The @ec.europa.eu seems really determined to fund the #democraticbacksliding of #Slovakia. This decision is contrary to the Commission's own concerns expressed in the 2024 Annual Rule of Law Report. But, hey, who cares about the #RuleOfLaw anymore

Very interesting country distribution of the reasons for voting in the EU elections europa.eu/eurobaromete...

#EUCO taps Croatian PM Andrej Plenković on the back for the summit without bothering with the controversies, both domestic and regional, the invitation of the Serbian President Vučić sparked. Short-sightedness and short-termism on a large display

This a graph showing the biggest beneficiaries from the #RRF fund until now. So far, 267 billion euro, in loans and grants, has been disbursed
October 9, 2024 at 7:17 AM
This is Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, former FM and ex-president of #Croatia, belonging to the EPP-affiliated HDZ party, bragging with a selfie with Elon Musk and congratulating Giorgia Meloni, among others, for making the world a better place. Not the 1st time showing off how morally corrupt she is
September 25, 2024 at 7:49 AM
Adding to that calls for exemption from #migration and asylum laws in some Member States, the question is whether this is the beginning of an era of legal #desintegration in the #EU at both national and supranational level

With such arguments, the path is set for building a stabilitocracy under Von der Leyen, which will cost much more dearly than an inter-institutional crisis. It's so depressing to watch how the house of European democracy is surrendering to the advancement of undemocratic forces from within #EU
