I never thought of this possibility. I live in Canada. My grandfather was a member of the Northwest Mounted Police (precursor of the RCMP). The NWMP were involved in the enforcement of laws and policies that harmed Indigenous peoples. So there is a parallel. Thanks for your input.

My nystagmus started ~6 years ago. I'm 69. I've never used illicit drugs.
My neurologist calls it "downbeat" nystagmus. I can keep my eyes steady if I look up as high as possible. Reading is difficult. I don't recognize people unless I stop & stare at them. I use a cane so I don't trip over things.
