IC5332, the so-called "skeleton" of the Milky Way, is seen for the first time in its brilliant halo. It is 29 million light-years away from Earth. At 66,000 light-years wide, it is about one-third the size of our own Milky Way Galaxy.

Astronomers are pushing the resolution limits of the Webb Space Telescope to observe light from 13.4 billion years ago and capture the earliest galaxies that formed about 300,000 years after the Big Bang.
