Since my last imagepost, I did one more thing at #LFF2025 ("Rental Family" Gala, review soon) but yeah, got to my average of seeing 5 films again and no movie was a dud. Another great fest, thank you London~ <3
Side of the BFI Southbank's entrance, alternatively known as the National Film Theatre, on an overcast last-afternoon in London's Southbank. Lights and lit-up signs have already been turned on in advance of the coming night. A colourful BFI London Film Festival 2025 banner adorns the side of the marquee. To the right side of an entrance into the Southbank Centre is a colourful wall adorned with BFI London Film Festival 2025 logos and above that, an electronic sign utilising a poster for the film "Rental Family" besides a poster for the festival with words at the bottom saying "American Express Gala". A red carpet adorns the floor that follows into the building and several people in front of the colourful wall mingle ahead of going inside. It's an overcast last-afternoon, rendered slightly darker looking by the lighting choice of the photo. Evening in London, the skyline surrounding St. Paul's Cathedral is our focus with the buildings lit up, a bridge lit from below with colourful fluorescent lighting and the river Thames illuminated by the reflections of it all. London Blackfriars train station, nighttime. An empty wide shot of the station with a sign signalling the name of the station and directions to the left and right to outside locations hovering above a set of metal chairs. The windows have a deep blackness to them that the lights of buildings from a London skyline decorate. As of when this was taken, there's no trains visible as of yet. (Fun fact: this was taken 2 days before the other photos, which were taken in my last LFF trip of the year on Thursday 16th October 2025.)

Ended up doing two more outings for #LFF2025, bringing the amount of films I've seen to being back to average-numbers. Will that be it? We'll see. Reviews coming up, enjoy the snaps. x)

A really enjoyable, albiet physically exhausting, day in London yesterday for #LFF2025! Saw "Wake Up Dead Man" at the Royal Festival Hall and "Twinless" st Curzon Soho.

Dunno how many more I'll do yet but whatever happens, that day was ace. <3 Please see "Wake Up Dead Man" when it's out too.

I underestimate how much I enjoy when episodes of Todd in the Shadows' Trainwreckords introduces me to bizarrely misshapen 80's songs like this that'd be poison to artists who aren't already uber-famous.

This combined with the album's back cover art is...a real audio-video juxtaposition of tones.
White or beige ghostly figures in a darkened landscape with a hauntingly red sunset sky above them. This is the back cover art for the album where a song I linked is featured, called "Wasn't That a Woman", which turns out to be a goofy slice of overproduced 80's sleaze made by a guy who was likely going through a "too big to fail" complex at the time (John Fogerty, lead singer of the storied American band Creedance Clearwater Revival).

OK, I don't like "screenshot expose"-type posts these days but hey, uh...how do I react to this and unpack it?

Guy (ID scrubbed) who posts TV ads from the 70's-90's responded to my post questioning how he and his commenters avoid or only ironically talk about Caitlyn Jenner's current identity.
Comment on YouTube from "AIOctober" (god, I need to change that username, the A is for Ade). Text reads: "This is a great upload as always, but I'll be frank, kinda weirded out by the lack of acknowledgement of Caitlyn Jenner's current identity outside of snide jokes in the comments and I think while the commercial acknowledges her as her deadname Bruce as that's how she identified at the time, she came out three years before this upload (2015) so unless the upload was done simply not knowing or thinking about how her current identity affects how she is referred to when mentioning her in archival material, like...l dunno, maybe you could refer to her as her current self and include a "(then Bruce Jenner)" instead next time, yeah? Unless that was figured out later of course, I've not been fully on top of these uploads recently, just know that that's how the transgender community would prefer to be acknowledged in these circumstances, no matter what you think of Caitlyn Jenner as a person." Reply to comment made by "AIOctober" by a user, the original uploader of the 70's commercial compilation these comments are from. His identity has been scrubbed from the screenshot. The reply reads: "These commercials are from a time in 1979 when they were known as Bruce Jenner. Whatever happened after that and outside of the timeframe of my channel is not really a concern to me. If you want to call it "deadnaming" or whatever you are free to do that, but to me it would be revisionist history to do otherwise. No disrespect. I have friends who are trans, and I feel like this aspect of it is the most off-putting to me. You can't erase the past; it's completely antithetical to what I do on this channel."

Transfer process is proving much more fiddly than I expected but the actual Switch 2 itself is very pretty and nice-feeling. :) (Ignore the bananas in Pic 1, they WILL be eaten!)

This is not as helpful a way to talk about autism as you think it might be. Being summed up as burdens who'll "grow out" of the parents' plight is retrograde and demeaning to autistic people of all stripes.

Don't portray us as forever-children burdens like that. (Read alt text)

This is written in the first-person, yet no person is credited, meaning this could just be an editor sloppily pretending to be a person who doesn't exist before switching the written view-point to a more corporate third-person. But also, "her" words paint her own children as thankless burdens who hurt the treasured happinesses of the parent and have to be compromised with for things to go well. And paint autism still as a "mum issue", a harmful stereotype where autism is portrayed as a child-only issue and that those who live it their whole lives have to "grow out of it", which explains how so little freedoms are allowed for autistic adults on top of continued harrassment years and years on for existing. Bad look.

THE C BUTTON IS - A button you use to Cast a video-stream of your Switch 2 gameplay either to livestreaming services (Twitch) OR via the dock, which'll have the means to act like a Chromecast for your Switch 2 or - It'll be used to beam towards your Smart TV or associated smart-TV-esque device so you can use your Switch 2 as a second screen like a Wii U I will be wrong! Corporations are the camel.
An online ad on Reddit for a video game that's left unnamed via the crop and with all text removed other than the first line, which is truly what was written as part of a slogan: "Corporations are the camel." Most of the pic besides that is of a 3D render of a chisled caucasian man with scars in placedly flattering places staring off into the distance (presumably the protagonist in this game) with his profile added to a view of the atmosphere of space, with a giant red planet and its moon to the side of the view.

"After "The Boy and the Heron" and all its public peer pressure of nepobabies while putting the praise of collaborative art to sole auteurs rather than hundreds of people being thrown under the bus so hero-worship of the auteur can continue, I kinda really don't have it in me to be all that fussed on Hayao Miyazaki anymore. Yet I wouldn't stoop as low as to make generative AI art of anything he's done and that's what some of his *fans* are doing. Some need to look at themselves and at how they're "enjoying" the stuff they like."

The twigs poke at my flesh and cause cuts, but I keep instead patching them with plasters until I feel its time where I can finally fly. But the time where I can fly never comes and my ability to fly is only so good. But I've been stuck in the nest for so long. I sometimes forget how long I've had to patch my cuts from the twigs. Even when they heal, I always feel them hurting me."

Did my first custom VHS of the year: "Hundreds of Beavers"!

Was gonna do this for last month but things got in the way so there we go. x)

Listing for "Moana 2" on the Google TV app, with the only purchase option being to buy it in 4K for £19.99. For context, Disney never do premium rental options on VOD services (only to-buy) while the option to buy didn't always default to 4K so the £19.99 price is quite something.

One more follow-up on this whole SNES-CD design stuff as these posts got REALLY popular...

...I've finally figured out what the games for the things' boxes would look like for Europe and Japan (where it'd be called the SFCD, or Super Famicom CD). :)
Front, spine and back of a mock-up of a Super Nintendo CD game (if the add-on actually existed). This is supposed to be a version of Sony Imagesoft's "Hook" (a game that did have a release on SEGA CD so its easy to figure out what could've been on the SNES-CD version). This is the European version, differentiated mainly by slightly different border art on the front, the tags on the spines being red with the Super Famicom logo and "SNES CD" written and multiple languages on the back as opposed to just English (other than English, the description's there in French, German and Spanish). The words "PAL" and "PAL VERSION" are also present in spots to really differentiate this between the US version further, like how cart labels for SNES games had "PAL VERSION" below the SNES logo. Circa 1993/94. Front, back and spines of CD boxart for a supposed version of "Secret of Mana" for if the Super Nintendo CD actually existed...or as this is the Japanese version, the SFCD (or Super Famicom CD). The layout is far less rigid than either the European or US versions of retail SNES-CD/SFCD boxart and there's far too much to describe that's different, but it sure is the Japanese boxart for "Secret of Mana" but converted into a CD jewel case form factor. Circa 1993, likely a launch title.
