We spoke about Brunei’s rich history, culture, and traditions, and of course, its wonderful food. His Excellency also shared insights from his career.

I had the pleasure of meeting the Chargé d’Affaires (Incharge) of the Lebanese Embassy in London today🇱🇧.

We spoke about politics, the Lebanese government and its outlook for the years ahead, as well as the important role an Ambassador plays in representing their country abroad.

We toured the mosque & grounds, shared lunch, and met the National President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community UK.

We visited Worldham Parish Council ahead of Jalsa Salana UK – a convention rooted in peace, charity & local community support - to discuss the traffic management plans for this year’s Jalsa Salana.

We observed prayers, walked the grounds together and stopped by the community’s Family Fun Day, organised by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association.

As the cabinet member at EHDC overseeing this project, I’ve seen first-hand the dedication from both our team and Y+ Youth Services — Woodlands Hall has now officially been handed over to Y+, marking the start of a new chapter for the area.

Great to have met Cllr Alan Earwaker and Cllr David Beaman who are both Farnham Town Councillors and Waverley Borough Councillors. Alan has been the Mayor of Farnham thrice!

We met at the Town Council and then visited the Mubarak Mosque in Tilford.

We ate together, toured the site and observed prayers.
George is the Mayor of Farnham & also a Waverley Borough Councillor.

I had the chance to visit Headley Down Food Bank recently and meet the volunteers who keep it running. Pauline, a volunteer, shared that they’re supporting over 80 families across Headley, Churt, Grayshott, Hindhead and surrounding villages.

Great to welcome ex-Premier League footballer Nicky Banger to Masjid Mubarak today.

He shared the work of The Knights Foundation, supporting disabled youth through sport & mentoring. I introduced him to the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, particularly to our outreach efforts.

Caught up with Clive Halliday from the MOD. He’s working with Mears under the ARP scheme, helping Afghans resettle in the UK.

We spoke about how we can all collaborate better – MOD, contractors, communities, & Afghan refugees – to make integration real, not just relocation.

Great to catch up over coffee on the Parliament Terrace with Baroness Shaista Gohir – crossbench peer and CEO of Muslim Women’s Network UK. We discussed gender equality, community engagement, and shared priorities for driving policy change.
