Pope Francis led by example, centering his life and papacy on being a voice for the less fortunate. He inspired us all to better embody the teachings of Christ: love, compassion, and justice.

It gives me solace knowing that Pope Francis's last public words were unmistakable and clear: we must care for the poor; we must care for the migrant; we must stand with the victims of violence; we must free political prisoners; we must make an end to war and oppression and end hatred.
