Hard to know from that disclaimer whether the FBI is disavowing the FBI's "beliefs, positions or policies" found within the documents, or the descriptive text saying COINTELPRO "was later rightfully criticized by Congress and the American people for abridging first amendment rights..."

The most disturbing visual element of the drawing apparently signed by Trump in the Epstein birthday book is not that the text is floated over what media have described as "the body of a woman," it's that the drawing looks more like the depiction of a developing girl's body--small, high breasts. 🧵

Fascist activists and fascist movements could be found in most countries. These all had some common traits: They were anti-conservative, anti-democratic and anti-liberal. They were revolutionaries. The revolutionary project was about making one’s country ‘great again’ after the humiliation suffered during and after World War I. They were populist. Both Mussolini and Hitler believed that they represented the real people, who were deceived by the lies of the elite. They were both anti-capitalist and anti-communist. Ideologically, fascist corporatism was supposed to represent a ‘third way’ characterised by unity, discipline and class cooperation. In practice, fascist economic policy served the interests of big industry. They glorified violence and considered violence to be a legitimate means of achieving political goals.

RIP, the great Charles Rangel, son of Harlem, champion of jazz, representative of the people. I shot this with an Android in 2010, at a congressional press conference about labor rights. I once watched Charlie dance the night away at a WBGO New Year's Eve gala at the Waldorf Astoria. Such joy!

The mayor of Newark—one of the largest cities on the East coast—has been "detained" by #ICE for reasons unstated. Mayor Ras Baraka was "removed" from grounds of an ICE facility in his city that he intended to tour for oversight. Oh, and BTW, Ras Baraka is Black.

The closure of the office comes amid other efforts to end policing and monitoring of foreign influence efforts in the U.S. At the Justice Department, Attorney General Pam Bondi has shuttered the FBI's Foreign Influence Task Force and pulled back enforcement of the Foreign Agents Registration Act, both of which were designed to combat malign foreign influence in the U.S.
