i appreciate what they were going for, but 2011 x's thing with the appearance is that it's a bastardization. longer legs, modern proportions in a classic body. this model also kinda just.. ignores that, though what they do get right is very lovely. i just dislike the shoes, height, and quills

i do like some things they did with him! his posture, his little references.. with the classic skin it's a hit or miss. i really like his little silly references with his goofy taunting sprite, but then his charge animation uses a my5t pose when he's gonna be in the game anyway ????

so don't get me wrong these aren't sins against humanity i just. i like this hedgehog a lot so i'm very passionate about him

With Devil's Dawn. The Diety. by all means the portrayal isn't awful, really fun stuff, it's just he fell under the "writers don't know source material" syndrome, with the people who were formerly in charge of that... they've turned around and retconned it to being their own interpretation, cool asf

outcome memories. john ragemode. this picture sums up a lot of my criticisms (@GreentheWigJig on twit) quills are incredibly short, unnecessary and (imo) detrimental jiggle physics, yelling a lot during his lines, a majority of which are shallow interpretations.. not. my. hedgehog

forsaken.. while i'm not super into it, i felt like his inclusion in forsaken before it was inevitably scrapped was done to capitalize on trends. the model matches up with the creative vision of the game by all means, but the chase theme was just.. it felt like my5t with grey shoes. not my hedgehog

for pillar chase 2, it's just the mere fact that there's a better version, now. by no means is it a bad skin, but the new version is very very nice, even if i have complaints about the lack of the eye wrinkle and the side profile (flat forehead and chin but that's pretty much it, really good model)

so. to properly verbalize my criticisms, a majority of these fall under the issues of mischaracterization
