Of course I'm not saying that moderates win or anything over-simplistic. The episode made a decent case that simple analysis isn't convincing. But if we're still left wondering "What else would a moderate Harris even look like?!" I think that actually has a really obvious answer.

I have a simple and direct answer: Explicitly renounce the silliest parts of the far left. Harris never did that. Yes, it would alienate the far left, but are you really losing anything by doing that? They famously are hard to drive out to the polls.

Always rough to get a reminder of how stupid this man is.

Every joke about Trump, no matter how genuinely funny, makes me just a little more sad.

You seem a little unhinged.

No Dems are calling for the arrest of Trump, and it obviously would be silly to even try. I don't think this answers the question.

After watching that, I don't FEEL dumber ...

... but maybe that's just the dumbness doing its thing.

I'm gonna be the public moron here.

... Why?

I mean, if they talk about the wrong stuff yeah. But I've seen AOC interviews where I think she is very convincingly making the case for why the Dems won't let Trumpists destroy healthcare, without a fight.

Example: You have a right to speech but a responsibility to use it to promote social betterment. You have a right to bear arms but have a responsibility to store and maintain them safely. I *think* the implication was: if the right is used irresponsibly, it can be reduced or removed.

Very nice episode, and interesting perspective.

It reminds me of a saying which was common in America in the 1920 and before, which has since fallen out of favor -- probably, to our detriment.

"For every right there is a corresponding responsibility."

Fully disclosure, I'm somewhat suspicious of IQ tests generally. I know that psychological researchers regard IQ measurement as one of the most empirically well-attested facts that they have. But having seen the abuses of statistics that are common in the field ... I can't help but wonder.

One thing I often wonder about with IQ tests is -- do IQ scores increase after taking an IQ score twice, holding all other things equal? I might suspect that it does, since people just get more comfortable with the test-taking process, and are at least a little more aware of what to expect.
