I know it’s wrong and it’s the grown ups responsibility to ensure these morons are restricted because they essentially know nothing, but there is a TINY piece of me that wants them to have their “utopian” state and just watch them fail catastrophically and just do the joker clap off to the wide

Also frustrates me because this type of mindset is exactly how we ended up in this roster quagmire. If player X is not working in the squad and not in plans for future, there is no benefit to Spurs keeping him on roster / paying wages in the hopes that the price will go UP over time.

Hit the nail on the head. Every team sucks sometimes, no matter the sport, but we gotta figure out a way to avoid the depths of shit I just watched. Found myself wondering mid-match “would I take the entire BG squad and coach and swap with Spurs happily?”

This is something that has flummoxed me for years as a US-based supporter. Guessing it’s connected to salary caps, agent incentives, non-guaranteed contracts, but hard for my small American brain to compute sometimes.

It’s a total black hole of time/energy. We’ve just accepted that it is what it is and if they come to their senses at some point in the future, great. If not, well that’s just not how we’re raising our kids.

Both my pops fought in the war and were so similar in their demeanor to the interviews, it’s uncanny. Try and watch it every year just to remind myself of what they went through at 22. Also doubles my disdain for all the jabronis spouting off about their fear of public transit, etc on Fox daily.

Those two are inverse case studies in “how to leave with good/bad will.” A) win trophy, be an amazing dude everyone loves vs B) make it clear how little you want to be here for several years until you get to leave, all orchestrated by your rube brother
