Soon. Soon this will be unleashed upon the world.

And now the XML clears through XMLLint for the Starmada conversion. I've got at least one feature left to implement, if I can find the data in the Starmada conversion without touching Dan's crazy CSS tricks.

The previously mentioned data structures, now "behaving".
September 21, 2025 at 4:32 AM
Trying this uploading it as a video...

This is an experiment -- making a screen cap "gif" of the movement from Monday's teaching game.

I didn't finalize the camera position until the end of turn 1, and I probably need to overlay text labels on the ships on the next one I do.

As well as turn number and step labels.

But hey, shiny!

Jess has gotten brilliant shots, and almost got two more kills. As in both of my pilots are mortally injured, and the Cockatrices Desire is Suffering and Karmic Tourist are limited to a pivot of 1 *or* a roll of 1, but not both. No fighters were killed, and all my fire was largely ineffective.
August 29, 2025 at 2:24 AM
Having killed both the Karmic Tourist and the Desire is Suffering, the wheel of suffering turns, and they are reincarnated!

The Not Again is also dead, but since the Not Again is still alive, it doesn't reincarnate yet.
August 29, 2025 at 1:47 AM
Jess has taken some damage, but she's now up 2 kills to nothing.
August 29, 2025 at 1:41 AM
Gator (Jess Miller-Camp) is currently 1 kill to Valakas' (Ty Eklund) 0!

Turn 3.

For practice with the call-and-response of resolving attacks and damage, Teentengee also fired at the now dead Not Again.

Tim did two SI hits, destroying a fighter.

On the second row of Xs, you can see Teetengee working out some anger management issues...

Next, we tested of Mode 0 versus Mode 1, once we got the relative pricing worked out for Mode 0 and Mode 2. (In a very real sense, you can think of Mode 2 movement as the underlying baseline of Squadron Strike, and the other two are variants of it.)

Which leads to this table:

66) Which means your space fighters are more akin to "space technicals."

Like this bad boy from Newton's Cradle:

Sadly, there's no call for Really Kewl Wingz with geometry that makes no aerodynamic sense, and especially no call for tail-planes/rudders.

I love art turn-over day.

Eye candy should be equal opportunity. Let's see if this gets auto-flagged for naughty content...

Hey, guys, new Shatterpoint set just dropped!

And it comes with the paints! Game changer!

I wonder what the cards look like!

AV:T 3rd Edition Box Art Reveal!

Charles Oines does great work.

I expect to send these to press tomorrow, and be shipping the game in about 2 weeks.

These are all for Squadron Strike, the virtual table top also supports Attack Vector: Tactical.

We run teaching sessions for both games regularly; the Discord server in this account's bio is where we schedule them.

I've tried hard, multiple times, to make the "take strategic territory, build units, take more strategic territory" kind of game that would generate Squadron Strike battles and failed at it. Tau Deichmann wrote one for me for an upcoming product called Wung Jian's War.

Here's its map.
July 3, 2025 at 1:11 AM
Now we needed to figure out why the default ship image wasn't displaying:

Which we did!

We're trying to figure out how to pass through the Squadron Strike image data for a ship, including filepath, through Starmada's HTML sequence, and have found it to be dodgy.
July 2, 2025 at 11:32 PM
So, it looked right, and then we asked "Why is the converted ship so much more expensive than the native built one?"

This required digging through some places in the conversion process where we fixed (literally) cse of two numbers being flipped into the wrong columns.
July 2, 2025 at 11:32 PM
That was our next fix, and in the process we figured out some errors we'd introduced in the data pulls for the Starmada native HTML ship sheet layout.
July 2, 2025 at 11:32 PM
We figured out how to get the weapons to display; it was an 'off-by-four' error on where that part of the HTML was pulling information, and figuring out how Dan encapsulated the AP data with the weapon data!

We also fixed the Stutterwarp display.

The damage allocation tables are still broken.

Our first export of HTML to generate an SSD actually generated valid HTML once we put the two additional tags on it, which we figured we'd need to do before we tried. That was a promising sign! We expected more chaos at first.

However...
July 2, 2025 at 11:32 PM
Here's what we fixed, as a narrative, fixing the Starmada SSD export! With screen captures!

This is the ship in Dan's spreadsheet:

It is not a sensible ship. It's "collection of corner cases for conversion" we made to test auto-conversion.

You'll want to read Alt Text for the bug-hunting.
