Plenty of Black Bryony in the hedges on yesterday morning's walk. Also lots of Sloe Berries & Old Man's Beard etc. So much to enjoy at this beautiful time of the year. 🍂

MOAT NEWS- Bright & vocal Kingfisher the highlight this morning. Also Grey Heron, lots of Mute Swans, excellent Coot & Black-headed Gull numbers, Pied & Grey Wagtails, Chiffchaffs, Goldfinches etc. No Goosander noted as yet. Would love to beat my record of 53 seen here. #birds #birdingWales 🦢🦆

An early wander around Parc Penallta this morning. Bit quiet on the bird front but a nice array of classic woodland birds- Green & Great Spotted Woodpeckers, Chiffchaffs & Goldcrests, Jays, Nuthatches, Long-tailed Tits etc. Lovely sunny morning. #birds #birdingWales 🐦

2/2 ...a few southbound Swallows,calling Chiffchaffs,Mistle Thrushes/Blackbirds/Song Thrushes all amongst the berries,3 very smart Wheatears,the area teeming with Stonechats(more than I've ever seen on one walk),Ravens,Nuthatches,Goldfinches,Linnets,Reed Buntings etc. #birds #birdingWales 🐦

Onto the lower slopes of Mynydd Meio earlier,in the belief that the rain would relent. It didn't so shall try again tomorrow(seeking Snipe&Golden Plover). A few Swallows&House Martins hunting in the rain,Chiffchaffs Jays etc. Black Bryony beginning to appear in the hedgerows. #birds #birdingWales
