Their best end of year rank was 45th in 2023. Could they beat any team on any night...maybe, college basketball happens to everyone (believe me, I'm a UK fan). They are perennial darling picks as an over-ranked (and over-seeded) Cinderella team from a Mid-Major Conference.

No one underrates Gonzaga. Since 2013 (only because I did this quick and dirty scraping data off KenPom) of teams in those Top 50 end of year rankings, only St. Mary's has a worse Strength of Schedule ranking. Of the 9 teams that have won the tourney, they are nearly 2x worse SoS than the 9th (VA).

Aberdeen is a merc only out for himself. Garrison is low effort. Chandler is outclassed. Not a great season ahead. Maybe having Lowe on the court stops Aberdeen from being so self-serving and who knows about Quaintance , but this team does not play well together at all
