There are two (public) HS kids in my house. Have lots of AP feelings. 1 - not equivalent to a college-level class. 2 - track or don't track. AP = shadow tracking. My kids like that, but non-standardized 'advanced' classes might foster more teacher agency and better, more original courses.

Most of the time I feel happy and virtuous for avoiding social media but now I feel a bit sad and out of it, because I missed this announcement. Hester - really looking forward to it. Congrats.

I was trying to come up with some charming UK-ism for "jumper cables" but realized that it sort of already sounds like one.

Platform strategy is the key to happiness. I remember in grad school mentioning my standing spot at 14th st to my shrink, and she was like "you stand in the same spot on the platform every time?" and I was like... you don't??

What language is this email written in? What does the word 'dear' mean at the beginning of this email?

the problem with you repeatedly posting BEA etc is that every time I read it I have to go through the whole thing, which takes some time, and then I have to consider for the millionth time the person from Secaucus who leaves their glasses in their locker during classes (stupid idea) to be smashed.

The listings for houses for sale around here should all put "marauding bears" under the list of property features.

I'll take this over the 3 bears who went after my garbage yesterday.

I do Titus in weeks one and two and they never like another play as much as that one (though R2 and Othello are currently big hits).

It is a slow process, but the gears are definitely turning at this point.

I authentically enjoy Journey. I cannot stand Foreigner. If they split it into two sets with a costume change in the middle... sure! But I will not sit through an encore of Jukebox Hero to get to a second encore of Anyway You Want It.
